Description

The Kelly Writers House (KWH) serves as a center for writers and writing of all kinds. The KWH hosts approximately 150 public programs and events each year, including readings, film screenings, conversations with authors and alumni mentors, workshops, art exhibits, and musical performances. Student-led projects include literary magazines, DIY printing, film making, literacy outreach, and more. Students who want to get involved are enrouaged to join the KWH Planning Committee.

In addition to public events that are free and open to all, the KWH helps students start and sustain writing-related projects (writing.upenn.edu/involved/studentactivities) and offers a number of annual awards and prizes to support creative ventures of all kinds (writing.upenn.edu/wh/involved/awards).

The KWH also offers a comfortable place to hang out. Here you'll find cozy couches, a bean bag chair, a student projects space, meeting rooms that can be reserved by writing groups, and a community of writers eager to welcome you.
